To the Committee Secretary,
This document demonstrates the current problem of tech platform overcapture, misclassification and removal of health and safety content in Australia. It also demonstrates that reliance on appeals processes is not practical, fair or reasonable.
The Digital Duty of Care bill does not address, acknowledge, plan for or contain any mitigating strategy for this increasing problem. Carve outs and exemptions cannot correct the reality: tech platform terms and conditions, automated decision making and AI moderation already block millions of Australian internet users from accessing essential publicly funded government endorsed health and safety information.
